| | | | | | Goldman Sachs: from Housing Bust to Electric Car. Aug 09, 2009 | | | Another incestuous relationship taking place between Goldman Sachs who is trying to make you think they are part of the green movement. Well, they are not. In summary, their connection with an Electric Car, obviously is to invest and make money from an existing business model, the one where we continue to consume. Where is the true business model that is aligned to the eco system? Yes, the one where you build once and reuse over a lifetime. - contrary to the planned obsolescence model (they have us in, buying cars every 3 to 5 years). Take for example the car swapping link on http://TrySwappingIt.com which promotes swapping cars. Honestly, do we really need to continuously build and buy new ones and scrap the old ones ... and the manufacturing waste that goes with this. Don't get me wrong we need transportation and we need to be a nation that produces and export our goods and services abroad, but is the rest of the world, especially the developing nations, are they demanding this product? - for the exception of the engine, the premise of using the wheel has not evolved much. Do not let any business convince you that they are backing or investing in eco related production. Why are we not reusing existing items? Why are we not ensuring there is a requirement for items to have a longer life-cycle. We need major corporations to invest in our strengths and re-invest profits in R&D - it is through R&D we will find our solutions, do not lose the American Ingenuity, it goes hand and hand with freedom. It's time we start placing our money in the right places instead of spreading it among friends in pseudo-status-quo areas while convincing the masses and profiting from them.
